Contemporary Design Issue ( Argument: Stating Problem)

Ignorance of Signage

When I was in high school, I always saw students and teachers smoke in the school area. Like a normal school, there will always be a no smoking area sign and no smoking posters. But why are there still people smoking in school? What is the function of the sign or poster? These are not focusing on smoking only but every sign and posters. Therefore, I would disagree that people interact with sign and posters.
We cannot deny that there are lots of people are smoking and people go toilet every day. But we also cannot deny that we have seen these sign, right?

From what I see, it is clearly stated that it is a no smoking  area and stop sign. But why there are still smoking? Why there are still littering? Does people interact with it? Maybe adults would but  what about  teenagers? As we all know teenagers are in a rebelious  state. They cannot interpriate  something clearly. Such as myself, when I see  these sign,  I know it is a no smoking and no littering sign but I feel nothing. Why?
Its true that it depends on the individual of thinking and sign and poster are for persuading and convincing people. But what of use if it cant persuade?

Just now I told that I feel nothing when I saw the no smoking and no littering sign. If you were to ask me to give a reason. Then I would answer “it is still the same” because it is the most critical factor of it. If you were ask to look at a  small black dot for 5 hours, can you stand it? Ofcourse  not right. You will get bored. It is also the same with the sign. The sign is still the same, no improvement on the design.
